Raptors

Devin Mankey, who works at the Grouse Mountain Wildlife Refuge, invited Robert Falconer and I up Grouse Mountain to photograph the Raptors show, Birds in Motion. It was their last weekend doing shows there before they return to their home in Duncan for the winter.

They had a 15 month old bald eagle (Hercules), hawks, owls, and my favourite was the falcon. The eagle soars gracefully but the falcon is so fast it was just awesome to watch. I was warned that she was fast and that it was hard to capture her but I had no idea! I am putting the two photos I almost got on her (at the bottom) just out of respect and now I have a mission to capture her in flight.

And here's my favourite, the beautiful falcon:

I am so impressed by these birds that it was too hard to edit them down to a few so I have made an album of them to share! Click here to see the rest.
